Approved Programs
for Licensing Wisconsin Educators

Traditional Programs for Educator Licensing

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction approves programs leading to educator licenses at Wisconsin's 32 colleges and universities. A complete listing of approved undergraduate and graduate professional education programs including majors, minors, and concentrations can be found in the PI 34 Index of Approved Programs at Wisconsin Institutions of Higher Education. • Excel Printing Tips: The spreadsheet prints landscape and requires multiple pages (both vertically and horizontally) to include all programs and institutions. To ensure that column and row headings print on each and every page on your downloaded version, do the following before using the print command: Select File, Page Setup, Sheet to see the "Print Titles" boxes. In "Rows to Repeat at Top," enter $1:$4. In "Columns to Repeat at Left," enter $A:$A. Make sure the "print gridlines" box is checked. Click OK to save these preferences. To print only an area of interest, highlight the area (click, hold, and move the mouse over desired schools/programs) and then under the Print command choose the "print selection" option. To print the entire index document for both public and private institutions, print pages 1 through 10 of the spreadsheet.

Wisconsin Education Approval Board

The Wisconsin Education Approval Board (EAB) authorizes private independent colleges and universities from outside of Wisconsin to offer degrees in Wisconsin. Some of these campuses may offer programs that lead to licensure in their home state. An individual who completes such a program may apply for a Wisconsin license as an out-of-state applicant. For information about EAB authorized colleges and universities operating in Wisconsin, see www.eab.state.wi.us.
