Workshops for School/Community Teams

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is providing workshops for school/community teams to spend a day developing or enhancing their pandemic flu plans.

Each workshop will consist of an introduction to the pandemic flu planning process and the resources that are available. School/community teams will then be able to utilize the Department of Public Instruction website and electronic toolkit, along with a plan template, to work on their pandemic flu plans during the workshop. This is a very hands-on session!

Workshop Outcomes

By participating in this type of workshop, teams will be able to:
  1. Understand the pandemic influenza planning process and the resources that are available to assist with this planning.
  2. Identify roles of schools, health departments, and emergency management.
  3. Develop or enhance their school district’s pandemic influenza plan.

Who should attend?

Superintendents, principals/assistant principals, student services staff, school safety/crisis response coordinators, school board members, public health staff, emergency management staff, and others involved with school pandemic influenza planning should attend the workshop. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT SCHOOL DISTRICTS SEND TEAMS TO THE WORKSHOP IN ORDER TO GAIN MAXIMUM BENEFIT FROM THE EXPERIENCE.
