Bilingual/ESL Program

Purpose: To assist school districts serving English language learners (ELLs)/limited-English proficient (LEP) students so they become proficient in English while achieving academically.

From the March 2008 Census of LEP Students: Over 45,000 identified ELLs in grades K through 12, 125 home languages other than English represented, and approximately 62% are Spanish and 24% are Hmong.
